Getting ready for your engagement photos can be stressful, and deciding what to wear shouldn’t add to that! Here are some tips to help ease the pressure and give you some insight on what to wear for your engagement photos!

Stick to Neutrals + Earth Tones

Opting for neutrals and earth tones is a great way to simplify your decision making. They both ensure you’ll match any environment and help prevent undesired clashing with your soon-to-be spouse. It’s best to stay away from bright, neon colors as these tend to wash some people out and can cast the color onto your skin.

Stay True to Your Style

These will likely  be on your save the date cards and plastered throughout your house for years to come, so try and stick with clothing you normally wear and are comfortable with.

Don’t be afraid to keep the outfit pretty basic, even if that means wearing jeans and a T-shirt. You can always add accessories for an additional touch of your style without compromising on comfort or timelessness.

 

Wear Something Free Flowing

Let me start by saying that if flowy outfits aren’t normally your style, then it’s totally fine to skip over this one. If it is your style, try and stay away from any restrictive clothing – a lot of my posing is movement-based so clothing that allows for this is the best option and provides more interest in the photos.

Coordinate, Don’t Match

While you’ll both be bringing your own style to the photos, make sure you’re coordinating the colors, textures, and patterns. Don’t try and find the exact same shade of blue for each of you, just make sure that you two compliment each other rather than match exactly!

Think of the Setting

The location of your photos can influence what you should be wearing. For example, if it’s the middle of summer think about what clothes will prevent or hide any potential sweat marks – some sweat can give a desirable dewy look, but not when it’s seeping through your clothes.
